What the role entails
Some of the key responsibilities of our Art Director will be:
Lead projects from the art side, manage and mentor assigned artists
Review graphic materials to assess their validity and appropriateness
Make sure every visual aspect of a game is well thought through and created in the best possible quality
Meet art department work standards by following production, productivity, and quality standards; identify work process improvements, make suggestions
Follow development to make sure final product is as good as possible, fulfilling or exceeding expectations

What the role entails

Some of the key responsibilities of our Concept Artist will be:



- Responsible for fulfilling the direction of the Art Director
- Maintain a consistent style under the direction of the Art Director and carry out revisions as required
- Support the Art Director in providing paint-over feedback
- Set and share best practices, knowledge of production pipelines and effective workflows within the teams
- Establish a reference for the Art team concerning various artistic elements and find solutions to complex issues
- Support the Lead and ensure a successful sign-off process for own work and the work of others by critiquing work and providing timely feedback
- Effectively communicate complex visual intentions to the broader Art team
- Contribute to planning regularly
- Create game assets such as the contents of the game's mock-ups
- Produce critical concepts and layouts
- Provide paint-overs when necessary
- Assist in establishing the style of the project and references for all the elements included in the art production, such as environments, characters, user interfaces and symbols
- Share knowledge with the artists within the project team
- Actively participate in the implementation of more efficient work methods
- Plan, estimate, and prioritise time frames for completing tasks and track progress using the designated tracking tools
- Communicate and collaborate with key stakeholders to confirm the task direction and ensure the consistency of work within the team
- Produce concept art and in-game mock-ups
- Support the Art Director, and Art Leads in any related ad hoc tasks
- Collaborate with Game Designers and developers in creating storyboards, providing mock-ups and previsualisation during the early stages of game development
- Provide storyboard and marketing mock-ups for the Art Director
- Provide updates through daily work logs and feedback using Shotgrid
- Upload daily previews, task workflow status and use asset tagging
- Draw and paint characters, props and environment shots for backgrounds



What we ask of you

- Minimum of 4 years experience as a concept artist
- Experienced Individual Contributor that can work with minimal supervision
- High-level illustration and concepting skills
- Able to model and/or sculpt 3D blockouts to be used for 2D concept art



Preference

- Experience working on slot games
- A degree in design, illustration or related training and/or experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to work in a team environment
- Experience working with 3D software
- Excellent fundamental skills in drawing
- Excellent design skills, ideation, sketching, pre-production conceptual work
- In-depth architectural knowledge
- In-depth anatomical skills
- Solid knowledge illustration fundamentals such as composition, perspective and colour theory
- Solid knowledge of design principles such as proportion, hierarchy, and repetition to name a few
- Strong research skills
- Strong observational skills
- Strong knowledge of forms, materials, detail density and visual storytelling
- Solid digital illustration skills
- Strong working knowledge of Photoshop
- Experience in creating style guides
- Experience in storyboarding

We need a skilled Art Director Team Lead like you to distinguish our growing international team in London*

Before you visualize yourself delivering your best work yet, on-time, with the quality expected of a market leader, please consider the following points-which look more like round dots but nobody calls them that.

As an Art Director Team Lead at Play'n GO, you will:

- Oversee the creative artistic quality of regional studio slot games
- Manage a team of Art Directors
- Work on Innovative prototypes
- Do product focus strategy thinking
- Coach and train Art Directors to ensure quality levels are hit on all games in the studio
- Work closely with other stakeholders (game design, animation, math)
- Lead the Art Directors in order to give detailed feedback to AD proposals to make sure they meet the quality benchmarks and also pushing evolution to higher quality
- Define and drive design standards and best practices for the team
- Work with the team (manager) to develop and define new practices to meet the evolutionary needs of Play'n GO’s art demands
- Be open to experimentation and research of other software mediums to push quality
- Ensure the art direction is well communicated within their project teams
- Work closely with Producing, Math, Games Design and Dev stakeholders
- Work on R&D projects
- Focus on new product strategies with the SLT
- Improve the quality of player engagement
- Create concepts for new innovative games
- Collaborate with animation, design leads and developers to R&D new creative solutions for art and animation that will take Play'n GO into the next phase of exciting slot game development
- Communicate and fully brief successfully approved innovation projects owned by you to selected Art Directors
- Foster an open and transparent culture to collaborate in the teams and between the other departments
- Manage your team to ensure high performance by meeting/aligning business goals
- Work actively to enable synergies and innovations in the art department globally
- Ensure team's compliance with processes and align activities
- Communicate and lead change
- By meeting/aligning business goals, focus the team on effective execution of delivery, strategy, and high performance
- Enhance team's competence and skills through training plans
- Act as representative of the company in both internal and external dealings
- Uphold and advocate the Company values and adhere to Company rules and regulations
- Ensure team's alignment to the Play'n GO culture
- Regularly provide and receive open and constructive feedback on performance, behaviour and skill
- Conduct performance and salary reviews according to the company’s current policies and processes and in cooperation with Human Resources and Reporting Manager
- Escalate employee issues to Human Resources
- Drive recruitment activities for the team, build and execute a strategy to hire the best-in-class candidates
- Travel domestically and/or internationally for business as needed




You MUST have:

- Gambling industry experience preferred
- Experience on AAA games or Mobile AAA is a Bonus
- 5-10 years of experience as an Art Director in mobile, console or casino
- Expert knowledge of Art tools like Adobe CC, Spine, Zbrush, Maya
- Strong level of Drawing skills
- Excellent artistic judgement
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to provide constructive detailed feedback to suggest improvements if necessary
- Ability to present their ideas constructively

As Art Director, you will work to create creative communication for our global contract customers. With us, you will work broadly with advertising and communication. What you will do
